Summary:The invention relates to a reflecting mat web which is produced on the warp-knitting principle by the use of metallised foil strips and which is used in greenhouses for light and heat reflection preferably for screens arranged in a slat-like manner. According to the invention, metallised foil strips, as weft threads having at least four times the width of cut of the stitch-forming threads, are tied in a warp knit by means of right/left fringe-with-weft construction. These foil strips consist of strips of a UV resistant foil with a width of cut of less than 2 mm and are thermoset in their form on the knitting tools. The stitch length amounts to at least 2.3 mm and to at most half the width of cut of the weft threads. The mat web is permeable to water vapour and can absorb dripping water. The sun's rays are reflected diffusely. There is virtually no possibility that ladders will occur.
