Summary: | A process and an arrangement for the production of activated charcoal are described, preferably with the use of the waste products produced in thermal power stations, such as lignite ash, and with utilisation of the heat of reaction available there. The process according to the invention can be used for all processing stages belonging to the production of activated charcoal, of granular fossil substances. The aim of the invention is to produce activated charcoal with a significantly reduced energy consumption and reduced expense in terms of equipment and reduced technological effort. For this purpose, a process known per se for the production of activated charcoal is integrated directly into the equipment of a thermal power station, by preferably feeding the lignite ash produced to the activator and also passing a part-stream of the flue gas of the steam generator directly through the activator. The exhaust gases of the activator including the suspended particle fractions thereof are blown via the coal pulverising mill, and the activiation gases are blown directly, into the steam generator firing chamber, and are there used calorically. |
