Summary:Zp sob v²roby alifatick²ch nebo aromatick²ch mono- nebo dikarboxylov²ch kyselin o 4 a 22 atomech uhl ku oxidac odpov daj c ch aldehyd se stejn²m po tem uhl kov²ch atom spo v v tom, e se jako aldehyd pou ije alifatick² nebo aromatick² aldehyd s jednou nebo dv ma aldehydov²mi, poloacetalov²mi nebo acetalov²mi skupinami nebo sm s t chto aldehyd a oxidace se prov d v karboxylov kyselin ze skupiny kyselina mraven , octov a propionov nebo ve sm si karboxylov kyseliny a vody p°i teplot 50 a 130 .degree.C a tlaku 0,1 a 2,5 MPa v p° tomnosti oxida n ho inidla a v nep° tomnosti katalyz toru.\ In the present invention there is disclosed a process for the preparation of aliphatic or aromatic mono- or dicarboxylic acids having 4 to 22 carbon atoms by oxidation of the corresponding aldehydes having the same number of carbon atoms, which preparation process consists essentially in that the used aliphatic or aromatic aldehyde has one or two aldehyde, hemiacetal or acetal groups or there may be used a mixture of such aldehydes and oxidation is carried out in a carboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of formic acid, acetic acid and propionic acid, or in a mixture of carboxylic acid and water, at a temperature ranging from about 50 to about 130 degC, at a pressure of from 0.1 to 2.5 MPa, and in the presence of an oxidizing agent and in the absence of a catalyst.
