Summary:The safety clutch is a combination of a firm torsion coupling with construction allowing elimination of smaller non-alignments of the axes of the coupled shafts (2,3) and the toothed coupling created by a two-part outside tube shell (6) arranged on the main fixed torsion coupling. On one part (6b) of the outside tube shell (6) there is at least one front groove (11) into which a cog (13) is mounted with double-sided clearance mounted head-on on the second part (6a) of the shell (6). To balance the rotating parts of the coupling it is better to produce two opposite grooves (11) and cogs (13) in the shell (6). On one part of the shell (5), for example on part (6a), there is a horizontal prismatic groove (14) in which the ball head (15) of the pin (16) is in contact with its walls arranged on a radially springing board (17) connected to the second part (6b) of this shell (6). The head of the pin (16), which is inserted (15) in the groove (14), is outside the area of the reactive sensitivity of the contact-free sensor (10), but if the coupling fails it is extended from this groove (14) and comes into the sensitivity zone of this sensor (19) which arrests and brakes the drive shaft (2) and the whole mechanism, which is thus protected against damage.
