Summary:A layer containing microcapsules with leuco dyes dissolved in kernel oil is placed on the lower face of pressure-sensitive recording paper. In order to prevent the kernel oil from diffusing through the carrier paper, the carrier paper contains an oil barrier with an oil adsorption value lower than 10 g/m , measured using the Cobb-Unger method, and the hot water extract has a pH value from 7.5 to 9.5. The oil barrier consists of an impregnation worked into the mass of the carrier paper or an oil-repellant surface preparation of film-forming hydrocolloids, plastic dispersions, pigments or mixtures thereof applied on one or both sides of the paper.
