Summary: | Dimethylamine boran (3), stable in aqueous solutions, in prepared by the reaction of dimethylamine with a BH3 group in the presence of a stabiliser, which is a compound of general formula I, where R is a methyl group, ethyl group, propyl group, 2-methoxyethyl group or 2-dimethylaminoethyl group. The stabiliser is added to the resulting reaction mix in a molar ratio of 1:1 to 300 of the prepared dimethylamine boran (3). Most suitably, after the termination of the reaction, the final molar ratio of the stabiliser to dimethylamine boran (3) is modified to a value of 1:150 to 300 by further addition of the stabiliser. |
