Summary:The method of production of derivatives of 5(6)-thiocyanatobenzimidazole of general formula I, in which R means amino group or alkoxycarbonyl amino group with 1 to 2 carbon atoms in alkoxyl part, consists in the fact that the compound of general formula II is selectively reduced by iron and the obtained compound of formula III reacts with cyanide of general formula R - NHCN, in which R means hydrogen or alkoxycarbonyl group with 1 or 2 carbon atoms in alkoxyl part.
