Summary:The laser rod from the material activated by ions of neodymium, e.g. from the monocrystal of yttrium-aluminium garnet or perovskite with higher efficiency of pumping, equipped with grooves or a helical groove on the cylinder surface, is significant because the groove has a wedge section with the depth from 0.03 to 0.7 mm, while the axis of the wedge is perpendicular to the axis of the rod and the vertex angle of the wedge α corresponds to the relation:Where c is the mass concentration of ions of neodymium in per cents, d is the diameter of the rod in mm, n is the refractive index and k is the constant with the value of 7.5+-1.5.
