Summary: | In order to prevent damage to a coaxial cable during removal of a piece of its screen, the cable end (c, d, f) is initially passed through the hole of a cutting plate (1) and is subsequently pushed into or onto a tubular cutting die (2). The piece (L1) of the screening mesh (c) to be cut off at the same time comes to rest on the outer envelope surface of the cutting die (2), while the conductive and insulating components, which are located under the screening mesh (c) to be cut off, are inserted into the space inside the cutting die which is constructed as a blind hole. During the operation, the cutting die (2) is pushed together with the cable end thus placed on through the hole in the cutting plate (1), as a result of which the screening mesh is cut off. In this case, the force components which endanger the intactness of the said components of the cable are absorbed by the cutting die (2). |
