Summary:The ship hull made of ordinary steel plate is always corroded seriously after a few years of navigation, it has to be dry-docked for removing rust and barnacle, thus shortens the time of shipping. However, the ship hull made of No.O9-Mn-Nb low alloy steelplate after navigation on the sea for thirteen years is still smooth enough and only slightly corroded. This alloy steel comprises mainly of Fe, C, Mn, Si, Nb and Al, it may be smelted in arc furnace, oxygen blast converter, or open-hearth furnace, and it is rolled into sheets or plates for ship building.
