The utility model discloses an electric eddy current retarder, contains an installing bracket that is fixed to the automobile gearbox and a stator disk that is connected with the installing bracket. The middle of the stator disk is provided with a hole, the diameter of which is larger than the outer diameter of a joint flange. Even number of integrated magnetic cores and magnetic yokes are distributed evenly on the stator disk and the stator disk and the integrated magnetic cores and magnetic yokes are connected by welding, which has better strength. A plurality of groups of monocoque coils with opposite polarity are evenly distributed along the circumference of the magnetic cores and magnetic yokes; one end of the magnetic core and magnetic yoke is fixed to the upper plate of the stator and the upper plate of the stator are connected and closely adhered with the integrated magnetic core and magnetic yoke at least by two pairs of fasteners. Two ends of the magnetic core and magnetic yoke are provided with a left rotor and a right rotor that are connected with a connecting flange plate by six stud bolts and lock nuts and the connecting flange plate is connected with the output shaft of the gearbox, wherein, a set bolt is arranged between the connection. The rotor adopts six lacing wires and every two lacing wires adopt the design of more than two corresponding ducts. The utility model is applicable to freight cars, buses and various tool wagons.
