A petrol engine and electric motor mixed power unit uses a controller to control a petrol engine, a dynamo motor set, a convertor and a battery set, wherein, the controller uses signals provided by a detection mechanism which can detect the vehicle and engine running state as control; a power distribution mechanism is arranged between the petrol engine and the dynamo motor set; the power distribution mechanism comprises a motor power belt pulley, a motor spindle belt pulley and a motor power belt linking two belt pulleys; through the integration of the dynamo and the motor and the low cost of the power distribution mechanism, the manufacturing cost of the mixed power unit is reduced.
