Summary:The utility model relates to a circuit, a power factor corrector and a converter. The capacitive element has its terminals coupled together by two thyristors electrically antiparallel. Discharging of the capacitive element is controlled by applying a gate current to one of the two thyristors that is in a reverse-biased state in response to a voltage stored across the terminals of the capacitive element.
