An axle assembly has an axle housing that includes a differential assembly having a ring gear and a lubrication guide assembly directly adjacent the ring gear. The lubrication guide assembly has a first lubrication flow surface, a second lubrication flow surface, and a groove. The axle assembly also includes an axle housing cover surrounding the axle housing.
