The present disclosure provides a vehicle system including, among other things: a door having an inner side and an outer side; at least one inlet in the inner side; at least one outlet in the outer side; and a door protector mechanism for moving the protector relative to the door. At least one relief valve is in communication with the inlet and the outlet and is mechanically interlocked to move with the protector.
