A ceiling fan includes a fan assembly having a motor housing, a motor located within the motor housing and having a drive shaft defining an axis of rotation, a fan operable to be rotated by the motor, and a first electrical terminal electrically connected to the motor. The ceiling fan also includes a boom having a first end adjacent the ceiling and a second end opposite the first end, and a mounting system connected to the second end of the boom. The mounting system has a mounting bracket and an electrical connector connected to the mounting bracket.
