The utility model discloses an automatic mahjong machine. The automatic mahjong machine comprises a placing groove used for placing a chip box and formed in the frame of a mahjong table. The lower portion of the chip box is rotatably connected into the placing groove. A sliding plate is rotatably connected to the chip box. A self-locking portion, used for fixing an opening position when the chip box is the completely-opening state, is arranged on the sliding plate. A return device, used for driving the chip box to be closed when the chip box is in the non-completely-opening state, is arranged on the chip box. The automatic mahjong machine has following advantages: by means of the self-locking portion, the relative position of the chip box can be fixed when the chip box is opened and does not change such that a user can conveniently grab chips; the return device enables the chip box to be in close contact with a mahjong table side when the chip box is closed; and no gap is produced.
