The POE system protection circuit comprises a first protection device and a second protection device, a first end of the first protection device and a first end of the second protection device are grounded, and the other end of the first protection device and the other end of the second protection device are correspondingly connected with transmission lines of any transmission pair one by one. The sum of a turn-on voltage of the first protection device and a turn-on voltage of the second protection device is greater than a voltage between the transmission line pair when PSE equipment provides power or PD equipment is powered, and the first protection device and the second protection device which are connected in series form a discharge circuit when a surge occurs between the transmission line pair ( between difference modes); when lightning or a surge occurs on a single transmission line ( between a common mode and the ground), the transmission line has no voltage difference to the ground, the lighting is directly discharged to the ground through a protection device connected with the single transmission line, the number of elements is reduced, and the space, the area and surface-mounting time of a PCB are reduced.
