Summary:The utility model discloses a chopper resistor for a locomotive. The chopper resistor comprises a cuboid-shaped cabinet, a resistance tape assembly and screw rods. The cabinet comprises a face plate, a rear face plate, a left side plate, a right side plate, an upper flange and a lower flange. The tow ends of each screw rod are connected with the left side plate and the right side plate respectively, and a plurality of layers of screw rods are arranged. The resistance tape assembly comprises a plurality of layers of resistance tape arranged on the screw rods respectively. Porcelain clamps are arranged on the screw rods in a sleeving mode and comprise single-face porcelain clamps and double-face porcelain clamps. One face of each single-face porcelain clamp and the upper face and the lower face of each double-face porcelain clamp are each provided with a plurality of grooves allowing the resistance tape to be embedded, the resistance tape is embedded into the grooves of the porcelain clamps, and reinforcing ribs are pressed on the resistance tape. The technical problem that the screw rods are prone to rolling is solved, and mounting is very reliable. The chopper resistor achieves double insulation, a large resistance value requirement can be met, the technical problem that in the prior art, the resistance tape is prone to jumping out of the grooves is solved, and assembling is convenient.
