The utility model provides an improved device of a large air separation plant expansion machine. The improved device comprises a circulating nitrogen compressor and a rectifying tower, wherein the circulating nitrogen compressor and the rectifying tower are connected through a pipeline. A one-way control valve is arranged on the pipeline. The improved device further comprises an expansion machine device and a cooler, wherein the expansion device and the cooler are sequentially connected with the pipeline. A return valve is arranged between an inlet pipeline and an outlet pipeline of the expansion machine device, a blow through valve is arranged on the portion, between the expansion machine device and the cooler, of the pipeline, the return valve is an air-to-close pneumatic diaphragm control valve, and the pipeline is a seamless steel pipe made of carbon steel. The return valve is additionally arranged between an inlet and an outlet of the expansion machine device, the phenomena of galloping, surge and the like caused by instable airflow are effectively avoided when the expansion machine is started; the blow through valve is additionally arranged on an outlet of the expansion machine and used for blowing away disqualified air sources and dust particles, so that the service life of the expansion machine device is prolonged and meanwhile safety production is guaranteed.
