The upper drive type vertical ring roll mill has the technical effects as follows: the big pulley is mounted at the upper end of the spindle in the vertical ring roll mill body, so that the defects that material discharging is influenced and swelling of the vertical ring roll mill is easily caused due to the fact that the big pulley is mounted at the lower end of the spindle at a discharge port are overcome; and a uniformizing device is mounted below the hopper, accordingly, a material falling from the hopper falls on the uniformizing disc, is thrown to all around uniformly under the action of centrifugal force and falls to a gap between a milling ring and a hammer wheel for milling, and the problems of low one-time milling rate of the material and short service life of the milling ring and the hammer wheel caused by non-uniform falling of the material are solved.
