The utility model discloses a positioning device for installing and butting pipelines. The positioning device comprises two semicircular plates which are used for encircling a butting position of pipes, position limiting plates are uniformly distributed on inner sides of the two semicircular plates and connected with the semicircular plates in a welded manner after being tightly attached to outer walls of the pipes, the two semicircular plates are connected at the encircled butting position in a threaded manner by fasteners, the position limiting plates are driven to retract towards the pipes by the two semicircular plates so as to drive pipe openings of the two pipes to be aligned, the position limiting plates are arranged at intervals, and welding distances convenient for spot-welding fixation for the butting position of the pipes are reserved among the position limiting plates. The positioning device has the advantages of simple structure, recyclability, high pipeline installing and butting efficiency and low labor intensity.
