When the electronic water level detecting device works, the touch switch detects if the device is contacted with the water surface, and if pulse signals are generated and sent to the MCU, the device is confirmed to be contacted with the water surface. At the moment, the MCU controls the display to output detected water surface information on one hand, and controls the counter with the photoelectric sensor to work on the other hand. The touch switch then detects if the device is contacted with the water bottom, and if the device is contacted with the water bottom, continuous pulse signals are generated and sent to the MCU which then controls the display to output detected water bottom info
