The utility model relates to a flat-plate gate valve, which comprises a valve body, a valve seat, a bonnet, a gate plate, a valve stem and an operating mechanism fixedly connected with the valve stem. The gate plate comprises a wedged holder, a left wedge, a right wedge, a left gate plate and a right gate plate. The wedge holder is in slant fit with the wedges. The wedges are provided with the gate plates on the lateral side close to the valve seat. A slant on two sides of the wedged holder are provided with projections at two ends in the vertical direction. The projections and the slant form a concave-sectional slide which is as wide as the wedges. The wedged holder is further provided with a limit block at the bottom. The two edges are provided with limit block containing cavities close to the lower ends. The flat-plate gate valve has the advantage that after the valve is closed, the two edges cannot shift horizontally during moving down, and accordingly horizontal movement of the two gate plates is limited
