A lighting unit with LED as the light source can convert a plurality of LED point light sources into strip light sources and can be used as the lighting equipment. The unit comprises a circuit board and a strip arc transparent plate. The circuit board is provided with at least two LEDs arranged in a line. The transparent plate is arranged below the circuit board and covers the LEDs. The external lateral of the arc transparent plate is provided with a plurality of arc ribs which are densely arranged. The light emitted by each LED forms a new light source on the arc rib through the light concentration effect of the arc rib on the arc transparent plate, so that the arc ribs together form a long-strip surface light source.
