Summary:A seal assembly comprises (a) two or more seal elements, each of which has the coefficients of thermal expansion; and (b) a clamping element has first and second segments, and a connecting segment between and attached thereto, with either two or more seal elements disposed between the first and second segments. The connecting segment has a central portion extending between the first and second segments in the clamping element, and the connecting segment is made of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion that is intermediate the largest and smallest of the coefficients of thermal expansion of the two or more seal elements.
