Summary:A surface material for a display and the display having the same are provided to prevent fingerprints from being visible by quickly penetrating fatty ingredients of the user' fingers into protruded parts of a fine uneven layer. The surface material(10) for a display is composed of a transparent base material(11); an uneven layer(13) selectively formed on the transparent base material; and a coating layer(16) selectively disposed on the uneven layer. The surface material is arranged on the surface of the display. The surface of the transparent base material, the uneven layer, or the coating layer has arithmetic average roughness of 20~200nm. An average gap between uneven parts of the surface of the transparent base material, the uneven layer, or the coating layer is 5~600nm. The transparent base material, the uneven layer, or the coating layer does not include fluorine atoms.
