Summary:A prospecting near surface layer configuration investigating method is suitable for the transverse wave of conversion transverse to earthquake prospecting. It solves the excitation and incepting problem of the field surface research to pure transverse wave and gets the surface layer information of longitudinal wave with low cost and handy manipulation. The wave crest, trough and the first transverse wave arrival are clear with enough energy and accurately reflect the change of the surface layer.
