Summary:A connector composed of a small-size socket (1) and a header (2) used in a mobile device such as a mobile telephone and a digital camera. The connector includes a contact (4) arranged at the side of the socket (1) and having a contact convex (44) for slidable contact with a post (6) arranged at the side of the header (2) and a plate spring section (42) for generating a contact pressure when the contact convex (44) is brought into contact with the post (6). Moreover, the post (6) has a contact portion (61) with which the contact convex (44) of the contact (4) is brought into slidable contact when the post (6) connects the socket (1) and the header (2), and a concave (63) whose part is included in the contact portion (61). Even when a foreign matter is attached to the contact convex (44) of the contact (4) of the socket (1) or the contact portion (61) of the post (6) of the header (2), when the contact convex (44) slides along the contact portion (61), the foreign matter is fallen into the concave (63). Accordingly, the possibility of sandwiching the foreign matter between the contact convex (44) and the contact portion (61) is significantly reduced.
