Summary:A adsorption heat pump is provided wherein the difference in the amount of moisture adsorption due to adsorption and desorption of an adsorption material is large and regeneration (desorption) of the adsorption material is possible at low temperature, so that adsorption and desorption of water vapor can be efficiently effected by utilizing a heat source that is lower in temperature than in the conventional art. An adsorption heat pump comprising an adsorbate, an adsorption/desorption section having an adsorption material that adsorbs/desorbs the adsorbate, an evaporating section connected to the adsorption/desorption section for evaporating the adsorbate, and a condensing section connected to the adsorption/desorption section for condensing the adsorbate, wherein the adsorption material has a relative vapor pressure region such that when the relative vapor pressure has changed by 0.15 within the range of relative vapor pressure of from 0.05 to 0.30 in a water vapor adsorption isothermal line measured at 25 DEG C , the change in the amount of adsorption of water is not less than 0.18 g/g.
