The reciprocating bamboo strip splitting machine has the structure comprising frame, fixing and pressing mechanism, pressure balancing mechanism, driving mechanism, buffering mechanism, operation controller and other parts. The pressure balancing mechanism comprising one right and one left pressure balance devices and has pressure rod with two ends connected to steel cable, rope guide pulley, rope guide strip and tension spring to obtain pulling forces on two sides and pressure on the pulley on the reciprocating knife holder. The operation controller has rocking handle, short shaft, long shaft and turning gears connected together.
