Summary:A filter cartridge comprising a tubular filtration medium (16) having first and second ends, comprising porous or fibrous material, and at least one thermoplastic end cap (12,14) formed of thermoplastic material and connected with said tubular filtration medium (16) in that one of said first and second ends of said tubular filtration medium (16) is fixed thereinto at an interlock zone (12A,14A). The thermoplastic material of said at least one end cap (12,14) has infiltrated said porous or fibrous material of said tubular filtration medium (16) at said interlock zone (12A,14P). The materials used for the end cap (12,14) and the tubular filtration medium (16) are dissimilar.
