Summary: | To bend glass panes, the horizontal glass pane (2) is heated in a kiln to a softening temperature, and placed between a concave bending ring (4) with a smaller outline than the pane dimensions, and a full-surface convex upper mold (3) in a bending station (1). Pressure is applied so that the glass pane follows the contour of the upper mold, at least partially. A final bending ring (5), with a frame shape, bears against the projecting edge of the pane, to force its against the upper mold. The curved glass pane is cooled or prestressed. |
