Summary:The invention relates to an assembly and torsional stop device (assembly aid) (1) for roller tappets of a valve drive in an internal combustion engine in which gas exchange valves are driven via roller tappets.. The roller tappets that essentially comprise a cylindrical tappet body are retained in accommodating spaces (7, 8) of the plastic assembly aid (1). The roller tappets are guided in a torsion-proof manner within the assembly aid during operation of the internal combustion engine by means of parallel, opposite torsional stop areas that are disposed symmetrical to the longitudinal axis of the roller tappet and are mounted at the end of the tappet body, which is located opposite a roller. Said effect is obtained by the fact that the interior profile of the accommodating spaces (7, 8) is adapted to the exterior profile of the roller tappets. In order to prevent mix-ups during mounting of shiftable and non-shiftable roller tappets, the distances between the torsional stop areas on the different roller tappets, and thus also the interior contours of the corresponding accommodating spaces (7, 8), are selected in a significantly different manner. In order to be able to direct the shiftable roller tappets correctly, e.g. relative to an oil gallery, the torsional stop areas of the shiftable roller tappets and the corresponding accommodating spaces (8) of the assembly aid (1) are mounted asymmetric to the longitudinal axis of the tappet body and are provided with a groove or rib (35), respectively.
