Summary:Terminating a session in a network includes storing a lease time. A lease request from a mobile node is received. An accounting start message is forwarded to an accounting server, where the accounting start message is operable to initiate accounting and the accounting server is operable to perform accounting functions. If a user re-lease message is not received at the expiration of the lease time, an accounting stop message is transmitted.
