Summary:This invention relates to a method and a device for suppressing pixel chromaticity used in color digital images, which utilizes a suppressing coefficient suitable for edge comparison to modify the chromaticity of said image pixel to reduce the spill phenomenon of said image. The method includes computing the gradient values of the brightness values of two directions of said image at the place of said pixel and the suppressing coefficients at least two directions to generate another suppression coefficient based on them and comparing said two gradient values with one critical value decided in advance to compute new chromaticity value.
