Summary:The invention provides a method for transmitting paging indicators which notify whether paging information exists in order to transmit the paging information which notifies the beginning of a dialogue period of a MBMS (Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast) service to multiple UEs (User Equipments) receiving a specific MBMS service or whether control information relative to the MBMS service exists. Since the paging indicator transmission mechanism defined in the present standards has problems such as the UE with no paging information or the UE battery consumption after paging or the like, moreover the paging information may cause unnecessary constraints on the lub interface. In the invention an RNC (Radio Network Controller) transmits the paging indicators and uses the paging period information, the time when the RNC transmits to a Node B is minimized, and the paging indicator are repeatedly transmitted. The method for transmitting the paging indicators from the RNC to the Node B by using an NBAP (Node B Application Protocol) control message in order to ensure the transmission reliability of the paging indicators.
