Summary:A recording medium (11) comprising a medium body (12) for retaining data. On the surface of the medium body (12), a first print layer (15) having a first thickness and a second print layer (16) having a second thickness larger than the first thickness extend. A print protection layer (18) covering the first and second print layers (15, 16) is formed on the medium body (12). The print protection layer (18) has an inclined surface (19) inclined to the surface of the medium body (12). When a relative moving speed of X [m/s] is set between a recording track on the medium body (12) and a head, an inclination angle smaller then 0.49e<-0.20X> is set between the inclined surface (19) and the medium body (12). An inclination angle set as such permits the head to smoothly slide on the surface of the print protection layer (18) and prevents the collision of the head against the print protection layer (18), thus ensuring a good relative displacement with respect to the head.
