Summary:Production of 4-(4-(1-ethoxy-acid radical-1-methyl ethyl benzene))-4-ketobutyric acid is characterized by azeotropic water dividing, by alpha , alpha -dimethyl phenylacetic acid: alcohol: methylbenzene=1 mol: 2.5-3 mol: 250-300ml., at methylbenzene-4-sulfonic acid catalysis, generating alpha , alpha -dimethyl ethyl phenylacetate, acid radical reacting at -20--10deg.C by alpha , alpha -dimethyl ethyl phenylacetate: succinic anhydride: dichloromethane=1mol: 1-1.2mol: 350-450ml., generating mixed acid, slowly cooling to -5--2.5deg.C, and crystallizing. Its advantages include simple process, low cost, high productivity and less by-product.
