Summary:Device for simultaneous manufacture of at least two fiber strands (8) used in the tobacco-processing industry, especially in cigarette manufacture, comprises a cutting device (12) for cutting the fiber strands, and a guide device (6) for simultaneously guiding the fiber strands a distance apart toward the cutting device. The guide device is designed so that during movement of the fiber strands in the direction of the cutting device the distance between the fiber strands is reduced to a pre-determined minimal value in front of the cutting device. An independent claim is also included for a process for the simultaneous manufacture of at least two fiber strands used in the tobacco-processing industry, especially in cigarette manufacture.
