The invention relates to a polyester film which contains organic pigment of 0.01 to 5 weight % having a molecular weight of 695 to 1000 in a polyester resin A. The invention is characterized in that the invention is composed mainly of ethylene terephthalate units, having a polyester resin layer (A) made of polyester resin containing copolymerized compounds of 1.5 to 8 mole % and, moreover, containing of organic pigment of 0.01 to 5 weight % and ethylene terephthalic cyclic tripolymer of 0.2 to 0.9 weight % in the layer (A). The polyester film of the invention can prevent color removing problem that the organic pigment in the polyester film leaks to the surface of the film due to high temperature, long time of moist heat and dry treatment and preventing the color change due to poor durability of paint and repeated heat. The polyester film of the invention is in particular used for packaging material and more suitable for food packing container coloring polyester film with organic pigment.
