Summary:A controller of passenger conveyor arranged such that a passenger conveyor circulating endless steps from one platform to the other platform is normally operated in energy saving operation mode, operated in carrying operation mode for a first predetermined time T1 set equal to or longer than a time required for carrying a pasenger from one platform (16a) to the other platform (16b) when the passenger is detected on the stage (16a), operated while making a switch from the carrying operation mode to the energy saving operation mode after elapsing the first predetermined time T1 if a new passenger is not detected before the first predetermined time T1 elapses, and operating conditions are measured for each operating mode. Since operating conditions can be grasped, the passenger conveyor can be operated while saving energy surely.
