Summary:A Rhodomarinobacter sp.nov for generating prodigiosin and its derivative is disclosed, which is separated from the deposit of south sea and has the suppression activity to staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtitis, colibacillus, etc. 本发明涉及一种一种能生产灵菌红素的新菌种，是发明人从南海沉积物中分离到一株细菌，经分子鉴定表明它属于与海洋杆菌(Marinobacter sp.)相似的类群，定名为红色海杆菌(Rhodomarinobacter sp.nov)。已针对该菌发展了一套培养技术，能从该菌稳定生产灵菌红素及其衍生物。红色海杆菌(Rhodomarinobacter sp.nov)的发酵产物对金黄色葡萄球菌、枯草芽孢杆菌、大肠杆菌、铜绿色假单胞菌、酵母菌等有抑制活性。
