An apparatus for determining a blood pressure of a subject is presented. The apparatus comprises a pressure signal providing unit configured to provide a measured pressure signal (TP) of the subject over a period of time, where the pressure signal is indicative of a blood pulsation and comprises a plurality of pressure pulses. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to: determine a blood pressure determination curve (TPWM-curve) based on the plurality of pressure pulses, the blood pressure determination curve indicating a dependency of the pressure pulses on an applied pressure; applying the transformation to the blood pressure determination curve; and determining the blood pressure based on a result of the transformation.
