Provided herein is a method of treating or preventing protein misfolding and deposition diseases in a subject by administering to the subject a low dose of Compound (1). Also provided herein is a method of reversing or preventing the toxic effect of the misfolded and aggregated protein amyloid beta by using a relatively insufficient supply (reverse stoichiometric) compound (1) to achieve a stronger detoxification effect.
