Summary:Methods and apparatus for increasing reliability in an IEEE 802.11 network are described herein. A first station (STA) may generate a set of configurations that satisfy reliability requirements for traffic flows associated with frames. Each configuration in the set of configurations may include a number of copies of the frame, a channel bandwidth, and a modulation and coding scheme (MCS). The first STA may transmit a plurality of request to send (RTS) frames over a plurality of channels to a second STA. The first STA may receive, from the second STA, a plurality of clear to send (CTS) frames indicating whether the plurality of channels are available. The first STA may then select a first configuration from the set of configurations based on a number of available channels. The first STA may simultaneously transmit multiple copies of the frame on the available channel based on the first configuration.
