The invention relates to the technical field of risk level assessment, and discloses a risk level assessment method and system for a hazardous chemical loading and unloading area. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring risk influence factors, determining risk grade evaluation indexes of a hazardous chemical loading and unloading area, dividing the grades of the risk grade evaluation indexes by using an analytic hierarchy process, and determining first-grade indexes and second-grade indexes. Thirdly, third-level indexes are differentiated from the second-level indexes, and the weights of the third-level indexes are determined; and finally, according to the weights of the three-level indexes, determining a risk level assessment score, and comparing the risk level assessment score with a preset risk assessment level score distribution table to determine the risk level of the hazardous chemical loading and unloading area.
