The invention discloses a box-type substation control transformer protection system. The system comprises a transformer state monitoring module which is used for monitoring and collecting various data of a transformer; the overload protection module is used for providing overload protection for the transformer; the short-circuit protection module is used for providing a short-circuit protection function for the transformer; the overvoltage/undervoltage protection module is used for providing an overvoltage/undervoltage protection function for the transformer; the transformer fault indication module is used for enabling an operator to know the operation condition of the transformer in time; and the communication module is used for providing remote monitoring operation for the transformer. The comprehensive transformer protection functions including overload protection, short-circuit protection and overvoltage/undervoltage protection are provided, it is ensured that the transformer can be timely and effectively
