A routing cable and a method of manufacturing a routing cable are described. The routing cable includes a plurality of elongated planar electrical conductors electrically insulated from each other and is shielded by a protective sheath formed over the elongated electrical conductors. The protective sheath includes a substantially flat outer surface of the routing cable. The routing cable further includes a signal conductor having an annular outer contour, the signal conductor being integrated with the protective sheath at a substantially flat outer surface and being at least partially shielded from interference by the protective sheath of the routing cable.
