The present invention relates to oil adjuvant compositions and vaccine emulsions comprising such oil adjuvant compositions. In particular, the present invention relates to an oil adjuvant composition comprising at least one oil; at least one non-ionic lipophilic surfactant, the at least one non-ionic lipophilic surfactant being a sorbitan ester or a dehydrated mannitol ester; and at least one nonionic hydrophilic surfactant, the at least one nonionic hydrophilic surfactant being an ethoxylated fatty alcohol.
